Monksmead Merits

Here is Donny the squirrel, our Monksmead Merit Mascot.

The children have been allocated into four houses named after the local parks in the area.

Maxwell  -  Blue House

Ripon  - Red House

Meadow - Green House

Aberford  -  Yellow House

Every child collects merit points for their house.  Merits are given to children for

            • Outstanding effort and achievement with their work in school or at home
            • Outstanding acts of kindness or politeness
            • Outstanding behaviour at all times or for being an exemplary role model
            • A sudden and commendable change to behaviour

Each child has their own shield displayed in class and use this to record the merits they have been awarded.

Thank you’ prizes are given when children complete their shields.

When 50 merits are collected the children can wear non uniform for day.

When 100 merits are collected the children can bring special toy to school for the day.

Each Friday in Celebration Assembly, we announce which House has collected the most merit points that week.
